The Indiana Fever have been on an insane tear coming out of the Olympic break. They’ve posted a 7-1 record, good for best in the league in that time frame. While they’ve performed well as a team, what’s shocking is that Caitlin Clark has already rounded out into the caliber of star that she was when she broke the all-time scoring record at Iowa.
Wednesday night, in a clash against the Los Angeles Sparks, Clark did the impossible again. In a must-win game in order to keep their momentum rolling against the Minnesota Lynx, Clark posted an unbelievable statline to push the team forward in what was a close contest until the final minutes. She recorded a triple-double, with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Statlines like this might seem routine to anyone who followed Clark in her Iowa days, but this is only the second triple-double from a rookie in WNBA history. The first one was recorded by none other than Clark herself, earlier in this year’s campaign.
It goes without saying that Clark’s rookie year has exceeded the expectations of even her biggest fans. Wednesday night’s performance was just one of many that left social media stunned.
