Indiana Fever rookie sensation has never been shy about showing emotion when she’s on the court. Unfortunately for her, however, that landed her in a little bit of trouble this week, much to the displeasure of WNBA fans.

During the third quarter of Sunday afternoon’s game against the Seattle Storm, Caitlin Clark was called for a technical foul after she slapped the padding underneath the basket in frustration after missing a three-point shot.

She was not exactly happy with the decision.

“I got a technical for basically being mad at myself because I missed a 3, and then I went and hit the backboard, and he told me it was disrespectful to the game of basketball,” Clark said postgame. “…It reminded me of the technical I got in college, where I said ‘damn it,’ where it’s like a personal frustration. Had nothing to do with my team, had nothing to do with the reffing, had nothing to do with the other team. It’s just because I’m a competitor.”

The call is pretty brutal news for Clark as it brings her season total to five technical fouls. If she gets seven, she will face a one-game suspension from the WNBA.

Needless to say, this whole situation sparked plenty of reactions and outrage from fans.

We’ll have to see if Clark can keep her emotions in check going forward.
