Caitlin Clark Syndication: Arizona Republic

On Wednesday night, Indiana Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark had one of the most prolific performances of her young professional basketball career when she put up a ton of points while breaking the WNBA record for assists in a single game. But unfortunately for her, the Fever still lost the game to the worst team in the league.

Caitlin Clark finished Wednesday night’s game with 24 points and a WNBA record 19 assists in what was arguably the most dominant game of her WNBA career so far.

“Caitlin Clark is in a category of her own. With 19 assists in tonight’s game, Clark has set a new record for most AST in a single game in WNBA history Previously, Courtney Vandersloot held the record with 18 AST in a game for the Chicago Sky vs. the Indiana Fever in 2020,” the WNBA’s official account said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

But unfortunately, it seems that performance was wasted as it did not result in a victory for the Fever. Despite her massive numbers, the Fever still fell to the Dallas Wings – the worst team in the entire league – by a final score of 101-93.

Needless to say, it’s pretty horrible news for Clark that her team still lost a game to the worst team in the WNBA while she put up record-breaking numbers, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.

The good news is, after a string of strong performances, the Fever are solidly in playoff contention.
