Cincinnati Bengal superstar quarterback Joe Burrow is trying to lead his team to a Super Bowl title at some point in his career, but it sounds like he has another major career goal as well – the Olympics.
Obviously, American football is not currently an Olympic event and will not take place at the upcoming Paris Olympic games. But at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, flag football will be one of the events. And during a recent appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, Joe Burrow made it very clear that he would like to compete at the 2028 games alongside a couple of his old college teammates.
“I really want to play for the Olympic flag football team,” Burrow said on the podcast according to Pro Football Talk. “Like Me, Ja’marr, Justin, Me and my friends out there playing football. . . . I think it’d be really cool.”
Burrow indicated that it would be “embarrassing” if the United States did not win the gold medal in the first year of the event. Including some of the biggest stars in the NFL on the inaugural team is probably a good way to make sure the United States does, indeed, win the gold medal.
