Bronny James, the son of NBA megastar LeBron James, made his Los Angeles Lakers NBA summer league debut on Saturday after he was selected in the second round by the team last month. But it sounds like the young player is already dealing with an injury.
According to a report from Los Angeles Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, Bronny James was held out of Sunday’s Summer League game for “precautionary reasons” due to “trace swelling” in his left knee.
“Bronny James has some trace swelling in his left knee, and will be held out of today’s second day of a back-to-back for precautionary reasons. He’s expected to play in Wednesday’s final California Classic game vs. Miami,” Trudell said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, the injury doesn’t sound all that serious as he is expected to return to the court in just a few days, but it is still quite concerning that the young player is dealing with some injury issues so early in his career.
Bronny was also sidelined for several months from the USC Trojans after he went into cardiac arrest and collapsed during practice as a result of a congenital heart defect. Obviously, he recovered and was able to return to the court five months later.
