Ezekiel Elliott left the Dallas Cowboys last offseason after the two sides decided to part ways after seven seasons together. Elliott ultimately played the 2023 season with the New England Patriots, but it sounds like there’s a chance he could be back with the Cowboys this offseason.
With Tony Pollard leaving the team this offseason, the Cowboys are now very much in need at the running back position. And it sure sounds like the Cowboys could be interested in bringing Ezekiel Elliott back this offseason.
During a recent interview, team owner and general manager Jerry Jones was asked about the team’s situation at running back and he seemed to indicate that the team was trending toward bringing Elliott back.
“First of all, the draft’s not over and that’s a thought,” Jones said according to Todd Archer of ESPN.com. “And it was a long time before a running back was taken in today’s draft. But we also are keenly interested in seeing what the future might look like with Zeke.”
Elliott rushed for 642 yards and three touchdowns with the New England Patriots last season. We’ll have to see whether or not the Cowboys do indeed bring Elliott back and how he performs next season.
