It’s no real secret that the Kansas City Chiefs have been hurting for elite wide receiver talent ever since the departure of speedy superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill. But it seems like the team tried to address that need in the NFL Draft this year, trading up to add speedy superstar wide receiver Xavier Worthy.
The Kansas City Chiefs acquired the No. 28 pick in the NFL Draft from the Buffalo Bills and chose Texas Longhorns star receiver Xavier Worthy, who just ran the fastest 40-yard dash time in the history of the NFL Scouting Combine. And it sounds like the team is quite excited about his speed.
“It’s a speed game and the more speed you have on the field, the harder it is for defenses to take away different elements of the game,” Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said according to Adam Teicher of ESPN.com. “Anytime you can add speed and add a guy with that type of versatility, I think you’re going to be interested. Just our ability to play vertical and have speed on the field at all times and having Xavier and Hollywood . . . I think as the season goes on here, I think we’ll have just an offense that can attack in multiple different ways and always keep defenses guessing.”
We’ll have to see how Worthy performs for the Chiefs this upcoming season.
