While most of the attention focused on Dak Prescott this offseason has centered on his uncertain future with the Dallas Cowboys, the 30-year-old now finds himself facing a potential legal problem.
According to WFAA in Dallas, a woman who has accused Prescott of sexual assault has dropped her lawsuit in order to change venues. Per the TV station, the accuser is opting to move the suit from Dallas County to Collin County, where Prescott has sued the woman, accusing her of extortion.
“Her allegations are completely false and this is all a continuation of the extortion plot against Dak,” Prescott’s attorney, Levi McCathern, told WFAA. “It is truly sad for the true survivors of sexual assault that people try to use our system to enrich themselves at the expense of others. The good news for Dak is I am confident the truth will prevail in this matter.”
Prescott’s legal team says that it was sent a letter from the woman’s legal team claiming the Cowboys quarterback sexually assaulted her in Feb. 2017. Per court filings, the woman demanded $100 million in exchange for not reporting her accusations to the police.
