After the Denver Broncos officially decided to part ways with quarterback Russell Wilson earlier this week, Wilson is now in search of a new team. And it sounds like a recent visit to the Pittsburgh Steelers went quite well.
According to a report from NFL insider Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, Russell Wilson met with the Pittsburgh Steelers for hours with much of that time spent with new Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.
“Heard Russell Wilson had a great meeting in Pittsburgh so far. I was told he sat with #Steelers OC Arthur Smith ‘for hours’ and that ‘he looked happy.’ I was also told Wilson ‘did his homework’ reaching out to some players in advance, per source,” Anderson said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Mike Tomlin moves like the ‘g’ in lasagna, so we’ll see how much carryover there is after RW retreats to his quarters,” Anderson continued.
The Steelers are in need of help at the quarterback position after starter Kenny Pickett did not live up to expectations last season resulting in the team starting Mason Rudolph down the stretch and into the playoffs.
We’ll have to see where Wilson ultimately signs, but the Steelers seem to be a good fit.
