The Kansas City Chiefs are facing their toughest challenge of the season this weekend as they prepare to take on the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game with a Super Bowl berth on the line. But after an unfortunate injury last week, they Chiefs will now be without one of their top players in the game.

According to league insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Kansas City Chiefs will be without All-Pro starting left guard Joe Thuney in Sunday’s game against the Ravens after he suffered a pectoral strain during last week’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

“The #Chiefs have ruled out All-Pro guard Joe Thuney with a pec strain,” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Thuney was unable to practice with the team all week. As a result, he was ruled out of Sunday’s game on Friday afternoon.

This is obviously some pretty horrible news for the Chiefs as they will now be without their top interior offensive lineman against one of the most dominant defensive fronts the team has faced all season including Pro Bowl defensive tackle Justin Madubuike, who has 13 sacks and 12 tackles for loss from the defensive tackle position this season.

We’ll have to see how the Chiefs handle this loss.
