The Green Bay Packers are facing quite a challenge this weekend when they take on the San Francisco 49ers, which was one of the most prolific offenses in the entire league led by one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the NFL. But one Packers player seems confident that they can force Niners quarterback Brock Purdy into some mistakes and turnovers.
During an interview session this week, Green Bay Packers defensive end Devonte Wyatt claimed that all the Packers need to do to force Brock Purdy into mistakes is get pressure on him.
“When D-linemen just get pressure into him, he’s always throwing off or it’s behind them or it’s overthrown or short … when you get pressure on him, it’s a guarantee we’ll get a turnover,” Wyatt said according to Green Bay Packers beat writer Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.
Devonte Wyatt on Brock Purdy: "When D-linemen just get pressure into him, he’s always throwing off or it’s behind them or it’s overthrown or short … when you get pressure on him, it’s a guarantee we’ll get a turnover."
Purdy led NFL this season in passer rating when pressured.

As Schneidman points out, this is a particularly bold quote from Wyatt because Purdy actually led the entire league in passer rating when he was pressured this season.
Obviously, this is a pretty bold thing to say about a quarterback who was one of the most efficient in the entire league this year. We’ll have to see how this all plays out.
