The Pittsburgh Steelers have not been particularly dominant on the offensive side of the ball in recent years leading to quite a bit of criticism directed toward Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada. But while fans may express frustration with Canada, one Steelers player doesn’t really see a point in doing that.

During a recent interview on The Arthur Moats Experience, Pittsburgh Steelers star wide receiver Diontae Johnson had a pretty blunt assessment of the situation, making it clear that even if he doesn’t like the play calls, the players “don’t have a choice” because Matt Canada is leading the offense.

“People might not agree with his play-calling, but you ain’t got no choice. He’s calling plays. He’s the boss on offense. We’ve got to do what he says and we don’t have a choice. You don’t have to like them, but you got to respect them. That’s how I go,” Johnson said according to Steelers Depot.

Under Canada’s leadership, the Steelers’ offense is averaging just 17.2 points per game so far this season, which ranks in the bottom six of the NFL so far this season.

But even if the players don’t agree with his calls, there’s not a lot they can do about it.
