Earlier this year, disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong spoke out against transgender female athletes competing in women’s sports, calling for “fairness” in women’s sports – which is ironic coming from one of the most prolific cheaters in the history of sports. And now he’s claiming that he actually got more hate for those comments than he did when he confessed to cheating.
During a recent appearance on the “Gaines for Girls” podcast with transgender activist Riley Gaines, former Olympic cyclist Inga Thompson detailed a conversation she had with Lance Armstrong where he claimed that the hate he received from his transgender comments was actually worse than when he admitted to doping.
“He couldn’t get over the vitriol,” Thompson told Gaines of Armstrong. “When he confessed to his cheating, he did not even get the shade then that he got [when] asking for fairness in women’s sports. You see how much shade that was thrown at Lance Armstrong when he confessed that he was doping. He said this was worse. I said, ‘This is what we’ve been dealing with.'”
We discuss Ivy and more (like Lance Armstrong's take on testosterone usage and how that relates to fairness) on the Gaines for Girls podcast episode released today with Olympian, Inga Thompson.
She has personal and direct experience with Ivy.

“Absolutely It’s worse,” Gaines replied. “It’s more vengeful. It’s more hateful. It’s more violent. It’s more personal. I mean, the attacks that the opposition has, they know what they’re doing. And they want to silence us, they want to deter us.”
These comments led to quite a few reactions on social media.
Lance Armstrong received more abuse for supporting fairness in women’s sport than he did when he confessed to cheating. What a terrible indictment re what women in sport, and those that support them, are going thru now! https://t.co/l60E1mHJ5k
