LeBron James is by no means having a bad season. In five games, The King is averaging a perfectly LeBronian 22.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game. However, whereas his stat line is mostly fine, LeBron has struggled from the free throw line. While he has shot 74.4% from the line over the course of his career, James is shooting 55.6% from the charity stripe this season.
Knowing that something is off with his shot, LeBron posted some footage of himself shooting free throws in the dead of night to his Instagram.
The other guy in the shot is Brandon Weems, a Cavaliers scout and former high school teammate of LeBron himself. Time will tell if the late night workout has a positive effect on LeBron’s shooting. Five games isn’t a big sample size and LeBron has been a fairly consistent free throw shooter so there’s little reason to panic over his early-season rust.
