The ubiquity of emojis has reached such a point that they have essentially become their own language by this point.
What began with mere smiling and frowning faces has since evolved to include everything from rocket ships to eggplants and umbrellas. Hell, an entire NBA free agency saga was basically told through emojis this summer.
Given their prominent place in the cultural landscape, it’s pretty great to see that emojis can still be used in fairly inventive ways. The Tumblr Emoji Films has managed to make a ton of awesome-looking minimalist movie posters using only emojis and text as their framework. Some look like modernized and updated movie posters for classic films. Others, like Mrs. Doubtfire, look downright hilariously horrifying.
