In order to raise money and awareness for the Erie County SPCA’s Paws in the Park fundraiser, the organization has started a campaign challenging people to eat a dog biscuit and encouraging them to challenge other people to do the same.
Similar to the ALS ice bucket challenge that went viral last year, the challenge made its way to photojournalist Nate Benson, who gamely ate a dog treat before issuing a challenge to Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan on Monday.

On Thursday, Rex Ryan completed his portion of the challenge by eating not one, but two “terrific” dog biscuits.

According to Ryan Talbot of Buffalo Sports Report, Ryan then challenged Sidney Pegula, Bills’ owners Terry and Kim Pegula’s dog, to the dog biscuit challenge. Sidney then challenged Terry, who challenged Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus.
If the dog biscuit challenge actually picks up steam and your friends begin challenging you to eat some dog treats, please remember this important detail:
An important reminder: not all dog food is safe for human consumption. Be sure to read the label before eating any dog biscuit. If it’s not safe to eat, it will say so on the package.
