Apparently, ESPN will be parting ways with another one of their prominent figures.
Colin Cowherd, according to The Big Lead, will follow in the footsteps of Bill Simmons and Keith Olbermann and leave the network. Though no destination is set in stone, it appears he’ll be heading to FOX Sports. ESPN president John Skipper spoke to The Big Lead about Cowherd’s forthcoming exit.
“We’ve enjoyed a mutually beneficial run with Colin for over a decade,” Skipper told TBL. “He came to national prominence on ESPN with his unique perspective on sports and society. Endings also bring new beginnings, for ESPN and Colin, and we thank him and wish him the best.”
Cowherd, like most sports TV/radio personalities, often receives harsh criticism, but you can’t deny the positive impact he’s had on ESPN. It should be interesting to see who fills his void going forward.
