Louisville booted guard Chris Jones from the team on Sunday, only three days after being reinstated following a brief suspension, and now we know why. According to the Louisville Courier-Journal and ESPN, the senior has been charged with raping one woman and sodomizing another. An arrest warrant has been issued and he is expected to appear in court on Friday morning.
The alleged incidents occurred on Saturday night and Jones was removed from the team less than 24 hours later. He was previously suspended on February 17th for apparently sending threatening texts to a former girlfriend, but was reinstated just one day later and played in the Cardinals home win over over Miami (FL) on Saturday.
Prior to his dismissal, he was averaging 13.7 points on 38 percent shooting in 31 minutes per game.
