It’s been a long while since we’d heard Afroman’s name in the news, and it appears that we were probably better off. The “Because I Got High” singer was arrested this week after slugging a female fan who he believed was dancing too close to him on stage at a concert in Mississippi. The incident was caught on video.
The video shows the 40-year old Afroman lay a single haymaker to the woman’s head or neck, knocking her to the ground before resuming his guitar solo as she gets up and walks off stage. According to TMZ, the girl left crying and bleeding but Afroman continued performing until the house lights were turned off. He was handcuffed and taken into custody by police, but released on bond shortly thereafter.
Here’s another angle of the incident. Absolutely disgusting.
