Team USA defeated Korea 8-0 in the World Sled Hockey Challenge Semifinal on Thursday, sending them to the championship to face either Canada or Russia. It was a thoroughly dominant victory for the Americans, who outshot Korea 38-4 in the game.
The most impressive highlight came from Chicago’s Nikko Landeros, who scored a brilliant lacrosse-style goal behind the net in the third period to put USA up 3-0. It was very similar to that infamous goal scored by Michigan’s Mike Legg back in 1996, which I assume has to be incredibly difficult to pull off while also managing to direct a sled. Pretty incredible stuff.
