The only thing in Seattle that is more ubiquitous than the number 12 is Starbucks so it makes sense that Seattle’s famous coffee company would offer a Seahawks-themed drink to the residents of the Northwest.

The calorie-infused green and bluish-purple Frankenstein is the brainchild of Starbucks barista Thom Arvin. The Seahawks Frappuccinio® uses a Vanilla Bean Creme as its base and it’s blended with blueberries to try and draw out a Seahawks “blue” color. Green tea matcha is infused into the whip cream to complete the Seahawks’ team colors.
“It’s definitely difficult to make something blue. I thought blueberry would be the best option to add to a vanilla bean Frappuccino and the matcha green tea adds a touch of green to the whipped cream,” Arvin said. “It took about six blends to make sure I had the right amount of blueberries.”
The drink will only be offered in select stores in Washington and Oregon this weekend. There is no word if New England area Starbucks will create some sort of red, white and blue caffeinated beverage in response.
