Hackers & Hustlers Episode 2: Courtney Smith of Courthsmith Basketball from Next Impulse Media on Vimeo.
In the latest episode of the Next Impulse Media series Hackers and Hustlers, we got the opportunity to sit down and talk with Courtney Smith of Courtsmith Basketball.
What is Courtsmith? Courtsmith is a startup brand which is looking to revolutionize the basketball apparel game. While sporting equipment brands often offer basketball clothes, gear and shoes, it is far less common for one brand to solely focus on one sport.
However, that’s what Courtney Smith, founder of Courtsmith Basketball, has proudly done with his company.
Smith derives his philosophy and passion for basketball and apparel from Oakland, California. The city’s “heightened sense of smartness and heightened sense of toughness” not only defines Oakland basketball; it defines Smith’s approach to founding a new apparel and shoe brand centered around the hardwood. Courtsmith isn’t concerned with anything but enhancing a player’s basketball performance.
The brand offers apparel for basketball youth, as well as men and women. Most intriguingly, they are also planning on releasing their very own basketball shoe (how many startup apparel brands can boast that?).
Also, their apparel looks pretty damn clean.
You can check out Courtsmith’s website at Courtsmith.com.
