Kevin DurantWell, that was quick. Russell Westbrook only had one game to shine before being bumped down to second fiddle again in Oklahoma City, as Kevin Durant is set to make his season debut tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans. While Westbrook was able to hit the ground running due to only recovering from a broken hand, the Thunder will be more cautious with Durant, as he’s back after missing seven weeks of action with a broken bone in his foot. Durant will be on a minutes restriction, which is fine because the Thunder are in the midst of a cream puff schedule these days and should have no problems keeping pace in the brutal Western Conference playoff race.

It’s also worth noting that, due to circumstances and injuries, tonight’s game will be just the third time Durant and Anthony Davis have played against each other, and the first time since early in Davis’ rookie year.
