Fasth-Full

The Edmonton Oilers have a bit of a goalie “controversy” heading into the upcoming NHL season, as both Ben Scrivens and Viktor Fasth are expected to compete for the starting job between the pipes. After being traded to Edmonton by the Ducks earlier this year, Fasth unveiled his new mask this week…and it might be terrifying enough to scare Scrivens into settling for the role of backup.

Fasth’s new mask was produced by Dave Gunnarsson of DaveArt and features a horrifying shapeshifting clown/monster hybrid with lips and teeth that run along all edges of the helmet. The Oilers’ colors are incorporated using a piercing blue for eyes, while the lips and clown nose are orange. The clown creature(s) also has oil dripping out of its mouth, hence the mask’s nickname “The Shapeshifter Oil Drewling Clown.”

Nightmare fuel. Good luck, Scrivens.
