Fighting in training camp occurs all the time, so let’s not turn this into a big deal. But, now that video has emerged, it seems worth a post.
At Bears training camp today, Martellus Bennett got into a bit of a scuffle with rookie cornerback Kyle Fuller. On the play, you’ll see Fuller go for a strip, as all Bears defenders are taught to do, and, in the process, he takes down Bennett.
Bennett wasn’t pleased with the rookie, and took him down with a WWE-style move, slamming Fuller to the ground. After Bennett takes down Fuller, you can see some Bears separate Bennett from Fuller and some go up to the rookie, most notably Jay Cutler who high-fives him.
Marc Trestman ended practice early after the incident. And Fuller and Bennett seem to be okay with each other after the melee.
All better? Fuller and Bennett just high-fived each other. #Bears

In other words, it’s training camp and stuff like this happens a lot.
#Bears TE Martellus Bennett: “[Kyle Fuller] plays hard, I play hard and everybody should be trying to play the way we’re playing out there.”

Unfortunately for the Bears, they lost Marquess Wilson to a broken collarbone earlier in the day. No word so far on how long he’s expected to be out.
UPDATE: Martellus Bennett has been suspended by the team for an undetermined amount of time.
Phil Emery says Martellus Bennett us absent today because he's been fined and suspended undetermined time.
