Usually when you see someone in sports take out a full page ad in a local paper, it happens when that person leaves an organization and wants to thank the fans and community for their support over the years. St. Louis Blues owner, Tom Stillman, isn’t leaving town but he still wanted to thank the Blues fanbase, as well as apologize to them for a disappointing end to the season.

After appearing to go “all in” while trading for Ryan Miller and Steve Ott at the trade deadline, the Blues reached the 100-point mark and recorded a franchise record 52 wins in the regular season. Ultimately, though, Miller and the Blues blew a 2-0 series lead to the Chicago Blackhawks and their season ended with a loud thud in the first round of the playoffs…again.

And for that, Stillman felt the need to apologize.
