Screaming 2-year-old gets psyched at Pittsburgh… by WTAE

The NHL playoff series between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Columbus Blue Jackets has been as close as it can get with each game being won by one goal, both teams scoring 14 goals and the series tied at two a piece. However the Penguins are hoping that they have a secret small weapon on their side and his name is Ty. Adorable 2-year-old Tyler Avolia is the biggest Penguins fan and has unbridled enthusiasm towards the team. Ty has transformed the family’s living room into a mini arena, complete with his own Zamboni (a toy lawnmower) and the carpet is his ice rink where he pretends to be Sidney Crosby. The Penguins love their lil super fan so much that they have offered young Ty and his family tickets to Saturday’s playoff game at Consol Energy Center.

Ty became a bit of an internet sensation and face of the Penguins faithful when he was at a Pittsburgh game and cameras zoomed on his excitement after a Sidney Crosby goal.

The hardcore Penguins fan quickly spread online with former Penguins player and current radio broadcaster Phil Bourque rally cry, “Buckle Up Baby!” So the Penguins are hoping with Ty rooting for them on Saturday that he will once again “Buckle Up Baby!”
