Nubian Spann, a senior at Panther Creek High School (N. Carolina), had never thrown down a dunk in his prep career before Friday night’s game against Apex High School. Well, he finally got that first dunk, but considering what transpired, his coaches may want him to keep it below the rim for the rest of the season. With 6:54 remaining in the second quarter, Spann caught a lob from teammate Juan Munoz, and delivered a vicious backboard-shattering slam that sent everyone home early for the night — and landed him the well-deserved #1 spot on Sportscenter.
