By now, you’re probably well aware of J.R. Smith’s penchant for untying opponents’ shoes while lining up for free throws. The NBA definitely took notice, and issued J.R. a warning for his unsportsmanlike behavior. But, because it’s J.R. Smith, the warning went unheeded, so the league slapped him with a $50,000 fine for “recurring instances of unsportsmanlike conduct”.
As you’ll see above, J.R. has taken his talents outside the NBA’s jurisdiction, and into the general public, where, clearly, no shoe is safe.
