Dwight Howard is pulling down a career-best 14.6 rebounds per game early this NBA season. Unfortunately, he’s also shooting a shade under his career average in free throw percentage — a measly 56.3%. The Los Angeles Lakers, who were visiting their former teammate in Houston on Thursday night, are acutely aware of Howard’s free throw line futility. Howard shot 5-16 from the charity stripe (or torture stripe, depending on whose side you’re on), which allowed the Lakers to hang around long enough to win 99-98 on this last-second three by Steve Blake:
