One second after Friday night’s Premier Boxing Champions fight between heavyweights Efe Ajagba and Curtis Harper began, it was already over.
Right after the opening bell was heard, Harper turned around and exited the ring. He went to the ramp and walked right out of the arena altogether.
Harper’s decision to just walk out completely stunned the broadcasters on FS1.
FS1 reporter Jordan Hardy said she spoke with Harper’s coaches and they had “no clue” he was going to walk out, and were “very upset with him.”
Hardy said she then spoke to Harper, and he told her he walked out of the ring because he’s not getting paid enough to fight.
If y’all are wondering I spoke to Harper and he said he walked out of the ring because he’s not getting paid enough to fight and that he wants respect. 🤦🏻♀️ #AjagbaHarper #PBConFS1

More on the contract dispute:
OK, Harper got to ring & told Bobby Brunette from MN boxing commission that he wanted to see contract he signed or he wasn't going to fight. Brunette said, "You signed it at the weigh-in and it's already filed with the state.'' And then Harper left.

Harper is a 30-year-old with a 13-6 record after this disqualification, so the statement he’s making is unlikely to really work in his favor.
