The Atlanta Braves pulled off a great comeback win in twelve innings (9-8) against the San Francisco Giants on Monday night. In the extra innings affair there was one play which went nearly unnoticed, which deserves a little more recognition. During the top of the eighth inning, watch catcher A.J. Pierzynski scoop up a pitch from David Aardsma which landed about four feet in front of him and then try and frame it for the umpire’s impending ball or strike call.
Just the fact alone that he thought there would be a chance to somehow fool the umpire on a near wild pitch deserves some major kudos.
