We finally have a teaser trailer and release date for Netflix’s first original film, Beasts of Nation. According to Variety, it will debut in 19 Landmark theaters on October 16th, the same day it’s released on Netflix. Written and directed by Cary Fukunaga (best known for Sin Nombre in 2009) the film is based on the novel of the same name by Uzodinma Iweala and stars Idris Elba, Grace Nirtley, Abraham Attah and Ama Abebrese.
The story takes place during a civil war in a West African country when a young boy, Agu (Attah), is forced to join a ruthless group of mercenaries after his father is killed.
