In the third inning of the Brewers-Reds game on Independence Day, Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez decided to show some good humor and sportsmanship by leaving a crumpled piece of paper and some gum in the grass for Reds outfielder Billy Hamilton.
And while that may seem like rude littering at first, Gomez actually wrote a considerate note to Hamilton, explaining why he left the small package for the Reds outfielder to find:
“I see you dropped all your gum so I brought you some more.”
Hamilton’s reaction to Gomez’s generosity/humor was priceless.
