Designer Jesse Nunez wanted to express his love of his two favorite two sports, basketball and soccer, through his own design work so he created mashups of NBA basketball jerseys as soccer uniforms.

For each kit, Nunez used a similar framework. The jersey would be an adidas jersey because they are the current supplier of officially licensed NBA gear. Stars would be stitched onto the jersey to honor past championships. The team’s alternative logo (if they have one) would be placed over the heart. Lastly, since these are soccer kits, a team sponsor would be placed smack dab in the middle of the jersey.

The results are surprisingly clean and yet fairly realistic for what would happen if basketball jerseys became soccer kits. Of course, with the NBA already experimenting with sleeved jerseys and sponsored logos, this could also be a glimpse into our near future.
