Part-time drag racer and full-time owner of Franco’s Mobile Pizzeria, Frank Cannistra, was competing at the Australian Pro Street Association meet at Sydney Dragway on Saturday where he narrowly avoided death. The brakes on the 39-year-old’s 1974 Mazda RX3 stopped working and instead of plowing into his competitor up ahead he purposely drifted into the safety wall. However the impact of him going 155 mph caused a massive explosion when the engine blew up. Thankfully Cannistra was able to escape unscathed, which the same can not be said of his vehicle. Looks like it’s back to pizza making for the time being, and let’s hope he doesn’t burn his pizza like he does to his race cars.
