Montreal Canadiens right wing Brendan Gallagher took a straight shot right to the trachea on Monday night. The puck was not even shot by the Habs’ opponent, the Tampa Bay Lightning, it was the friendly fire of teammate Alexei Emelin, who probably owes Galalgher a nice steak dinner if he can ever swallow again. Despite a brutally painful looking blow, Gallagher returned to the game minutes after nearly having his Adam’s apple removed because he’s a hockey player and that’s what hockey players do.
