It’s always a sad day when a great urban legend gets put to bed by the man responsible for it. Or, in this case, the man associated with it. The mythical “Who wants to sex Mutombo?” line that was supposedly delivered by Dikembe Mutombo upon entering a nightclub many years ago is sadly just that: a myth.
Mutombo appeared on Highly Questionable with Dan LeBatard Tuesday afternoon and dropped the truth bomb, which means we have to find a new favorite NBA urban legend. Skip ahead to about the 5-minute mark for the terrible news.
Of course, there’s never been any way to confirm whether he said it or not, so even if he’s lying about not having said it, we’ll still never know.
