It looks like we’ve seen the last of Bob Costas and his case of double pink eye on NBC’s Olympics coverage. It was announced Tuesday morning that Today host Matt Lauer would be temporarily replacing Costas while the sportscaster’s eye infections heal up.
Lauer will step in starting with Tuesday night’s primetime telecast, which will be the first time since 1988 that an NBC primetime Olympic show will be hosted by anyone other than Costas.
