Seventh grader Oliver Wahlstrom of Yarmouth, Maine has officially given a verbal commitment to play hockey at the University of Maine, making him the youngest player to ever commit in college hockey history.
Wahlstrom, 13, gained Internet fame a few years ago thanks to a couple of nasty highlight reel goals in the Mini One-on-One segment aired between intermission of Boston Bruins games on NESN.
He becomes the first college hockey born in the 21st century and his commitment wouldn’t be until the fall of 2019. If this is the kind of stuff he can pull off in elementary & middle school, imagine what might lie ahead when he graduates high school.
