Nate Robinson is pretty much the most annoying player in the NBA, and Sunday night at Staples Center, the three-time Slam Dunk Contest champion (yes, I still have a hard time typing that) was in his finest, most irritating form. With 2:37 left to play in the game, and the Denver Nuggets holding a comfortable 125-103 lead over the Lakers, Robinson decided to throw down an alley-oop as the final exclamation point a big road win. Of course, merely throwing down the dunk wasn’t enough for Nate, as he promptly hung on the rim until the referees were forced to call a technical foul.
Nate’s aerial display wasn’t over yet, as he threw down two monster put-back dunks before the final buzzer mercifully sounded. The loss dropped the Lakers — losers of seven of their last eight games — to 14-20, while the Nuggets improved to 16-17.
