The once larger than life Barry Bonds has definitely downgraded his physique and now he is downsizing his real estate. The baseball legend is selling his enormous California mansion to the tune of $23.5 million, which was just discounted from it’s original price tag of $25 million. The San Francisco Giants slugger purchased this 17,100-square-foot monster abode in 2002 for $8.7 million. This seven-bedroom, 13-bathroom home is situated on 1.85 pristine acres in Beverly Hills.
Realtor.com tries to sell you on this pricey property:
Venetian plaster and custom moldings are abundant, and vaulted ceilings give parts of the home a cathedral-like feel. Limestone and Italian travertine flooring throughout ensure your feet touch only the finest materials. “Old World Tuscan charm with elegant modernity” is how the listing describes it.
In terms of amenities, the highlight reel includes custom fish tanks, a music room, a wine room, a full gym, a steam shower, an elevator, and a giant movie theater sporting hand-painted Trompe L’oeil murals. Step outside and one will find a pool, a sunken basketball court, a guesthouse, and a six-car garage providing ample storage space for all of Bonds’ fancy rides and bicycles.
So is there a greater chance of Bonds making the Hall of Fame or someone purchasing this mammoth mansion for $23.5 million?
