I am a HUGE Superman fan and have been since I saw the Christopher Reeve version for the first time when I was four years old. John Williams’ theme music still stirs me and, for my money, no one will ever be a better Superman than Reeve.
As a fan of the character, however, it’s interesting to see how much he has evolved over the last 75 years. In the beginning he couldn’t even fly. He could only “leap tall buildings in a single bound”. He’s gotten a lot more powerful over the years, to say the least.
To celebrate the upcoming release of “Man Of Steel”, here’s an infographic detailing every version of Superman’s iconic “S”, regarded by most as the second most recognizable symbol in the entire world (losing out only to the Christian cross).
