However strange this story may seem, it is actually true. In the wake of the near-rioting celebrations in Lexington following Kentucky winning the NCAA basketball championship a man was shot in the leg and today it was announced that he had to have his foot amputated.
ESPN reports:
Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts says 31-year-old Harold Calloway remained hospitalized Tuesday afternoon. He was shot around 2 a.m. as Kentucky fans were celebrating in the streets. No arrests have been made in the shooting.
Roberts says police don’t typically identify wounded victims, but Calloway has outstanding criminal warrants in Indiana.
Following Kentucky’s win over Kansas thousands of fans in Lexington took to the streets and flipped cars, lit touches on fire, and apparently even shot each other. Not the best look for what should have been a shining moment for the University of Kentucky.
