Back in February, Klay Thompson left Nike for Chinese-based sportswear company ANTA. While ANTA did work up the ‘KT Fire’ at All-Star Weekend to celebrate the signing, Thompson didn’t have an official signature shoe under the brand last season.
Now, that’s about to change.
Seen here in the Golden State Warriors’ blue and yellow colorway, Klay’s first signature sneaker doesn’t have a price point, name or release date attached to it yet, although SLAM reports that the shoes should hit stores “soon.”
While it is difficult to see from the shots provided, one cool little detail that the shoe reportedly sports on the tongue is Golden State’s logo. As Brandon Richard of Sole Collector points out, ANTA is the NBA’s official merchandiser in China, so that’s likely why Klay’s blue and yellow shoes can sport the Warriors logo in addition to ANTA’s for even more team synergy.
