Local news pieces after big sporting events are always baffling to me. It is essentially putting reporters in a position to fail.
The combination of booze, elation (or sadness) and a live newscast seems to bring out the worst in people. Luckily for WFLA-TV news reporter/anchor Melanie Michael this moment featuring her and a Lightning fan was very tame, and just led to a good laugh.
The Johnson he was referring to, was obviously Tampa Bay’s Tyler Johnson whose hat trick guided the Lightning to a 6-2 victory.
