Nolan Arenado of the Colorado Rockies is widely considered to be among the best defensive players in the game and probably the best defensive third baseman. The two-time Gold Glover winner (2013, 2014) routinely makes ridiculous plays that rarely make headlines because the Rockies won only 140 games during his first two seasons in the bigs and the later mountain and west coast time zone games aren’t seen by as many fans.
However, the 23-year-old Californian is one of the game’s rising stars as he continues to make incredible plays like the one he made during their win over San Francisco on Tuesday night. Some people are comparing it to Derek Jeter’s famous catch in a similar spot but sorry, Arenado’s catch is much more impressive.
