Wesley Matthews of the Portland Trail Blazers appears to be a big fan of the USMNT and is all about showing off his patriotism. He uploaded this photo – which shows him watching the game with a mask, body paint, and American flag socks next to a USMNT jersey-wearing Ted – to his Instagram account during halftime of Sunday’s match against Portugal at the World Cup.
The United States was trailing 1-0 at this point and Matthews still seems to be in good spirits, adding the caption “Solid first half” to his upload. He hasn’t uploaded anything since so we’ll have to assume that he took the heartbreaking draw pretty hard, just like the rest of us.
