Al Michaels, the play-by-play announcer for NBC’s “Sunday Night Football,” was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DUI in Southern California on Friday night, Santa Monica police said. They also mentioned that Al was extremely cooperative and was released on his own recognizance Saturday morning after spending more than five hours in jail.
Michaels is scheduled to appear in court on June 26.
Al is not only one of the best play-by-play announcers of all time, but he is also responsible for the iconic “do you believe in miracles” call at the 1980 Winter Olympics when the U.S. stunned the Russians in hockey.
