Over the past several months, Indiana Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has become one of the most high-profile athletes on the planet. And as she now heads into a bit of a break as many WNBA stars head to Paris for the 2024 Olympics, it sounds like her parents might need a bit of a reprieve as well.
Earlier this year, Caitlin Clark admitted that her parents were struggling with weight of her fame and all of the newfound attention and criticism, as well.
“They see all this stuff, too. You have to remember, we’re regular people with feelings. My parents have feelings. It can definitely be hard at times,” Clark said in an interview with Michael Lee of The Washington Post earlier this year.
“Honestly, I feel like I have a pretty good skill of blocking everything out. I think being in this position, you better have that skill, or else it’s going to break you at some point.”
Clark has seemed able to block out the noise and focus on the game, but that might not always be as easy for her friends and family. But for the next couple of weeks, they won’t have to worry about that quite so much.
